Krathaak is simply Dutch for Crate Hook. We started off in the Netherlands but now that we are growing internationally fast, we like to stay true to our roots and keep the name Krathaak as a brand name 🙂

Two carry a crate you need two hooks, and there are two in the box. We only sell them as a set.

They are made of Nylon or, for the connoisseurs, Polyamide 6. This incredibly strong and tough plastic is also known for, among other things, tie-wraps and fishing line, just imagine how strong they are despite being very thin!

We indicate that the hooks can handle a maximum of 20kg each because we do not want them to be used for purposes other than transporting a crate of beer. However, with the size and material properties of Nylon, there is still a very large safety margin. This is to ensure that this is an extremely safe way to carry a crate on your bike!

We based our design on the fact that every crate has at least two handles on the sides, by using the most common feature many different crates can be used such as beer crates, water & soft drink crates and bicycle luggage crates.

We have tested all or the well known brands in the Netherlands as well as many of the Belgian and German brands. We even took it further by arranging crates from across Europe to test.

(we have enjoyed this supply of beer crates, that we needed for testing off course, for a long time at the office by the way 🙂 )

Now that we enjoy having customers from all over the world, it off course gets harder to test those crates and to guarantee compatibility, but…

Yes! There is a way on every bike! Just like with the crates, we have spent many hours of research on this. First on our own bikes and then tried all the bikes at various large bicycle parkings and other places, it must have been a strange sight for passers-by 🙂

We always say ‘there is a way on every bike’ because a certain way maybe not work on your bike, but the other way does. For example, you may not be able to hang the crate on your handlebars because you have a high up headlight like a number of traditional models have, but in that case you can use the luggage carrier instead.

We are so confident in our product that if for some reason it does not work on your bike, you can return your Krathaak crate hooks within 14 days regardless of the reason!

Off course! Beer crates, water or soft drink crates, milk crates, luggage crates, all works like a charm.

A popular way to carry stuff on the bike in the Netherlands is having a fixed luggage crate on the fron luggage rack of your bicycle. But not many bicycles have this feature. With Krathaak, you can do this with any bike!

Yes, that is absolutely possible! From certain MOQ’s we can customise the colour, add a logo and do a fully-customised print on the box as well.

No, because of safety reasons we don’t.

We control the material use and injection moulding process of the products we sell. But when customers print their own versions, we have no control of the materal that’s being used or if the correct print settings are being used, we can’t guarantee the quality of the product in this way.

And let’s be honest, who wants to take the risk to save this modest purchase price…
